Job Summary

This position is responsible for achieving territory sales and growth objectives through sales presentations to distributors, distributor sales representatives and end users on proper and effective use of LebanonTurf products, technologies and logistics.

Functional Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential landscape and golf distributors and dealers.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify and accomplish specific goals and targets.
  • Forecast product demand by SKU, by customer, by month.
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain existing client relationships.
  • Identify, pursue and develop potential new clients.
  • Assist in the resolution of client concerns and disputes when necessary.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional:

  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and association meetings.
  • Follow-up for payment collection or resolution of disputes when necessary.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees when requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of agronomic principles and practices.
  • Basic computer skills, MS Word, MS Excel.
  • Ability to persuade and influence Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public.
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule with overnight travel.

 

Location:

  • Candidate must reside in NJ, MD or PA covering the Mid Atlantic Region (including but not limited to NJ, MD, DE, VA, WV, and Eastern PA).
  • Position is home office based.

 

Work Experience and Education:

  • Minimum BA/BS in business, agriculture or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of selling experience (preferably in the T & O Markets).
  • Business to business experience selling to distributors and/or dealers.
